Eric Nernberg: The Writer

Eric Nernberg earned a B.A. in English from Carnegie Mellon University in 1986, and began his writing career as an Assistant Acquisitions Editor for a NY based scientific publishing company. In this role, Eric Nernburg contributed to many informational documents.

Eventually, Eric Nernberg transitioned into a new role as a writer for the well known tabloid ‘The Sun.’ This position allowed him to express creativity and humor as a writer, and he was awarded the MOTH (Most Outrageous Tabloid Headline) award. He spent seven years at ‘The Sun’ before deciding to make a major career change.

Eric Nernberg: The Restaurant Owner

Despite having no relevant prior experience, Eric Nernberg purchased a restaurant in 1994 in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Although it was a slow start, he pulled together an outstanding staff and this restaurant became one of the busiest (of its size) in the city. This success led to the purchase of a second restaurant, which Eric eventually sold, along with his car and other belongings, to move to Thailand.

Eric joined forces with a friend and the two opened a restaurant/bar in Thailand which became very popular with visiting Marines. However, business slowed down once the Marines left so Eric picked up his passion for writing once again and worked with his friend to develop and launch 3 new publications within a year.

Today, Eric Nernburg travels between his life in Thailand and his restaurant, which continues to flourish, in Pittsburgh.
